Pokemon birFday partay!

Last weekend was my daughter's birthday as well as her birthday party which was in the theme of, yes, Pokemon. Fun was had, Pokemon were caught, and birthday wishes were aplenty.

This past week I found a set of Switchback snowboard binding baseplates on eBay at an amazing price. Stoked I am about this. Throughout the Summer/Fall I'll be on lookout for the other components to make this a a fully functional set of binders (straps, baseplate pads, and high backs). I haven't decided what board I'll be hunting down this Fall for the coming season but I've got some ideas. I really want a Mervin board, Gnu or Lib, doesn't matter to me. But I'm also really a big fan of Dinosaurs Will Die, Yes, Smokin, Rome, and there's more I'm sure are slipping my mind right now. When it comes down to the wire I guess it'll depend on what I can get the best deal on. Whatever I end up with I'll be sure to write a review of it right here.

Another thing. An idea that's always in the back of my mind but I never ever pull the trigger on is doing a run of skateboard decks. USA made decks, screen printed, not heat transferred graphics. It's not an "if" it's a "when." When I do this, I'm going to do a Kickstarter for it I'm thinking. If I can get like, 15-20 decks pre-sold (essentially) then it'll be a done deal. The main problem I find myself dealing with is finding the time to get the graphics done. I have tons of ideas, just can't figure out which one to move forward with.

Update.

It's again, been too long since I posted anything here so I figured I'd give it a go.

This past weekend I got to go see Avengers: Age of Ultron not once, but twice. Once by myself on opening night (I'm a dork) and then again on Saturday with my wife and two daughters. It was phenomenal. I'm counting down the days until I can see it again. My only beef was (spoiler alert!) that they killed off Quicksilver. I always have beefs when they kill off key characters in stories too soon. But other than that one discrepancy, I'm a fan of the movie.

Also, on Saturday it was national Free Comic Book Day. So, we all stopped at the local comic book shop to take part in the festivities. Here's a pic of my daughters with Darth Vader, a Jedi, and another Empire officer (I think he worked in the Death Star if I'm not mistaken).

Other than normal everyday life stuff (work, family stuff, etc.) not a whole lot has been going on. We did book a cruise for this coming November which is kind of exciting. And I did get to go roll around at a local skate park which is a rare occurance in my old age. I'm going to make a valiant effort to get out more to skate, I miss it a lot and I'm a little too rusty for my liking currently.

Until next time.....
